First season of archeological surveys began at Jamshidabad historic site in Roudbar, ILNA reported.

The team headed by Yousef Fallahian is to conduct 35 days of studies during which test pits will be dug to determine the nature of the site and delineate its boundaries.
The site is located 48 km off Rasht-Qazvin Road, in northern Gilan province.

Jamshidabad is one of the most important historical sites in Gilan province dating back to the Iron Age.
